Facing the future together with hope

Ladies Lunch success for The Haven!

Ladies' lunch

Almost 200 ladies joined us on Sunday 3 March at The Radstone Hotel, Larkhall for a day of fun, fizz and fundraising and we are delighted to announce that our 2019 Ladies Lunch raised over £2,000 for The Haven!

This year’s lunch was expertly hosted by TV reporter and presenter David Farrell, with entertainment provided by the Rock Choir Hamilton and the fantastic Men of Motown – Southern Flava, fresh from their stint on BBC programme ‘All Together Now’.

We are delighted to not only raise an incredible amount of £7,200 but to also receive great feedback from our guests. With some of the highlights being the incredible Men of Motown, who kept the dancefloor full all afternoon and of course the delicious two course meal from The Radstone!

The Haven is now approaching 17 years since the first drop in centre opened in Blantyre and we could not have opened our further two vibrant drop in centres in Wishaw and Forth without the continued support from businesses and individuals at events like our Ladies Lunch.

This year is the year of The Haven’s Children’s Appeal and the money raised at this event will help towards the sustainability of The Haven’s Children and Young People Service. This service helps to support children and young people to feel resilient and strong, enabling them to understand their own emotions and to be confident enough to share the natural feelings of loss when someone they care about is seriously ill or has died. The Haven Centre in Blantyre has an established children’s service and the charity is in the process of setting up a similar service in the Forth Centre as well as ensuring support to the Wishaw Centre.

A huge thank you from all at The Haven, your contributions and generosity at this event will make a real difference to those facing the emotional impact of a life limiting illness.
