Local Garden raises funds for The Haven

We have been the grateful recipients of a charity scheme run by Scotland’s Garden Scheme, Open Gardens of Scotland.

For the past few years, local Braehead man Alan Brash and his partner Margaret have taken part in this scheme by opening up their garden to the public and choosing to donate all proceeds to The Haven. This year the couple raised an incredible £790.32 which will go directly to supporting families affected by life limiting illness in the local Clydesdale community.

Volunteering Opportunities Opened up to the Young People of Clydesdale

Children, Young People and Families Service Recruitment Opportunity

As we recently announced, we are expanding our successful Children, Young People and Families Service to our Forth centre, something we are delighted about. In order for the service to be fully established, we are recruiting volunteers aged 16 to 25 to come on board as peer support volunteers for the children and young people who access the service.

Team Haven are on the Kiltwalk Countdown

This September we are aiming to take our biggest team ever to the Edinburgh Kiltwalk to raise vital funds in order to sustain

our support and services across our three centres.

People from all over Lanarkshire will be walking in aid of The Haven at one of Scotland’s highest profile charity events, the Kiltwalk, in Edinburgh which is taking place on Sunday 15th September.

New Children and Young People’s Service in development for the Clydesdale Community

We are delighted to announce that we are expanding our successful Children and Young People’s Service to our Forth

Taster sessions will be running throughout the summer holidays and will be the first stage of piloting the Children and Young People’s Service from our centre in Forth, giving families in the local area an insight into what the service will look like and will allow the service to be developed in line with the needs of the local Clydesdale area.

The Haven Blantyre shortlisted to win a share of £25k Scotmid Funding

We are delighted to announce that our Blantyre centre has been shortlisted to receive a share of £25,000 as part of Scotmid Scotmid Community Connect Shortlist AnnouncementCo-operative’s Community Connect initiative which supports some of Scotland’s most valued community projects.

We are now asking for the support of the local community to vote for us to receive the top prize of £15,000. Strathcarron Hospice and Ronald Macdonald House are also in the running for funds and alongside the top prize, two £5,000 investments will be made to the runners up.
