About us
The Haven Centre was opened in May 2002 to provide care, complementary therapies and information to people affected by life limiting illness such as Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s Disease and Huntington’s Disease and also to their carers and family members. We strive to give the highest standard of care to everyone affected by life-limiting illness and we work closely with other organisations to achieve this.

We try to make our visitors feel welcome. We have a comfortable lounge and kitchen area where they can relax and chat, or simply have a cup of tea or coffee. There is also a 'quiet room' where visitors can have a discussion in private with nurse or volunteers. Volunteers are a very important part of our service and are always pleased to welcome new and returning visitors. "We felt part of a family and still feel so, it is good to know you are there and really, really care." “The Haven is a place of emotional and spiritual calm – a healing sanctuary for the body, mind and soul. Its staff and volunteers all contribute to make The Haven these things and more. They are listeners, guides, helpers and friends.” “I look forward to coming to The Haven and getting my therapy as it gives me time to relax” “Everything The Haven offers to clients is done with kindness and excellence”
